Ever had an app or game crash as soon as it reached its 2GB ram quota? Do you use windows vista/seven 64bit with great wads of ram and get annoyed that these programs won't try and use more?

http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?s=ab14de7d7b16c7fdf82a7956de02a799&t=112556

Nifty app that basically flips one byte in a 32bit executable to tell it to try and use 3GB of ram when it can.

Saved my arse with a few games so far.

Note wont work with DaoC, also wont work with any game that has intense copy protection (securom, etc).

I'm going to see if that works for darkest of days, awesome game great fps with funky storyline (sorta assasins creed as a shooter without the biblical or masonry references) Time traveling world saving dude Booyah! the fun parts are in ww2 when you drop handle held mortars from the zepplin you steal from them. I just got pissed at it crashing due to high spawn counts of decent ai's.

Yeah, if its a ram problem, this will fix it Smiley

2 games it works well on, sins of a solar empire: diplomacy and the original supreme commander (expansion shipped with this already modded).

Note, this app can mod and unmod the file, its just one byte it flips and it can flip it back and the file will have its original MD5 and Hashes.

And if you mod a file and give it to someone for their windows XP machine, it won't hurt it, XP will just ignore the setting Smiley
